As our season will start earlier than last year, we need lights.
We will move our home field to Mitchell Ellington Field.
Mitchell Ellington is on Hall road just north of 528 in Merritt Island. The facility is much larger than Jefferson and can host tournaments. Check it out. Look for the two football fields out back. Perfect for our clubs. One for the youth and one for the HS team.

Spring 2011 Jays Youth Lacrosse Season Registration:
Merritt Island Jays Lacrosse Club will continue its youth team in 2011.
The age groups remain U-11, U-13 and U-15. Age is determined by the players age as of January 1, 2011
The Girls program will start at that time as well.
The season starts late January and will be on Mondays, Weds and Saturdays. The season will end on or about May 13th.
The first few weeks will be general skills and conditioning. Games to start late February/early March.
We will play in the Florida Lacrosse Association. Games will be against local teams and those in Central Florida.
Registration will be available on line shortly. The cost of pinnie is included.
Spring 2011 Jays High School Season Registration:
Merritt Island Jays Lacrosse Club will have a JV in 2011.
This team will be established to represent the local High Schools. This team will be independent and play other independent and non-FHSAA schools.
The season starts January 17th and will be on Mondays, Weds, Friday and Saturdays (days may change). The season will end on or about April 23rd. The first few weeks will be general skills and conditioning. Games to start early February. Registration will be available on line shortly. Cost will be $130.
Once this season is over, we will, as a team, become the Jays traveling tournament team and play other elite teams throughout central and south Florida. More on this during the spring season.
Winter Clinic:
Merritt Island Lacrosse will have a winter clinic to introduce lacrosse to new players. Loaned sticks will be provided. Mouth piece and athletic supporter and cup is required. Girls are invited as well. Clinic will be Weds and Saturdays in December with the exception of Holiday. This will be a five weeks clinic with some of the best coaches around. Coaches with College experience will be there to help you learn the basics skills to be successful in the Spring. Emphasis will be on catching, throwing, cradling, shooting and ground ball.
Fall Clinics:
Stay tuned for announcements on specialty clinics during the fall. We plan to provide some of the best shooting coaches and players to provide high level stick skills for the advanced player or those that want that winning edge. We will also hold a Goalie school some time late November for any aspiring goalie.
I will host a defense clinic in November or December to teach basic and advanced defense skills. The cost for most of these speciality clinics will be $40 for the one day clinics.
Financial Aid:
The aim of Merritt Island Lacrosse is to provide Lacrosse to all of Merritt Island youth no matter their economic situation. We can not promise 100% waiving of all fees and costs. We will listen to all who are in need and work out a plan that may include a payment plan, equipment loaning and some volunteer work. The more grants, clinic money and donations we receive, the more we can do for our neighbors in need. Please do not look at this sport as a prep school sport. It is a sport born of the American Indians. It is an American sport for all Americans.
